In the summer of 2013, I served as the education coordinator and stage manager for Theatre Tulsa’s first official educational program in decades - Broadway Bootcamp. At that time we only had 11 students and few resources; however, the production and summer camps were a success, and a new education program established. Over the years, I grew the program from mere dozens to hundreds through a multifaceted education program that now produces three to four children’s productions annually.

I have fostered relationships with each one of these students, as well as their parents, many of whom have been with me for several years. I take great satisfaction in watching young performers thrive as artists and grow as individuals. I cherish watching each of them discover themselves and make new friends. Nothing is more gratifying than a well-deserved curtain call. The applause is excellent, of course, but the real reward is watching children’s faces light up with a sense of accomplishment and their families in the audience beaming back at them with pride in their eyes.

As a teacher, I believe everyone is capable of greatness, especially children and teens. I learned if you give students a challenge, they unquestionably rise to the occasion and accomplish anything they set their mind to so long as they are given the respect, encouragement, and resources they need.

Over the past five years, I have gained comprehensive experience as a theatre educator, director, and stage manager. In this time I have directed, stage managed or produced 17 youth productions and have involved in more than 30 others. Additionally, I have served as office manager for Theatre Tulsa and handled the day-to-day administrative duties of a non-profit theatre company including the accounting, box office, development, and fundraising.

My goal as an educator is to continue to nurture my current students and to continue cultivating new ones.

If hired, I will bring my knowledge of nonprofit management, enthusiasm for teaching, and passion for theatre to your company and look forward to seeing what I can do develop your education program as a teaching artist and director.
